From 16th-17th September, Glasdon will be attending the Resource & Waste Management Expo to showcase our innovative range of street furniture & internal recycling solutions.
Having pioneered the use of plastic material for street furniture in 1959, Glasdon has remained a market leader in the sector ever since. Over the years, we’ve expanded overseas and developed significantly, bringing our Quality by Design to tens of thousands of customers internationally. Even so, our manufacturing process remains primarily in the UK, with local suppliers and a local workforce helping make Glasdon what it is today.
With the weekly collection of household food waste mandated by Simpler Recycling legislation earlier this year, maintaining compliance has been on the minds of many in waste management. As such, we’re looking forward to showcasing our range of specialist food waste units to help local authorities maintain compliance and effectively collect food waste from their residents. Of particular note is one of our newest and most innovative products to date – Glasdon Jubilee™ City 100.
Glasdon Jubilee City 100 is a compact food waste unit designed to make the collection of food waste smoother, simpler, and more efficient. Intended to be placed on confined city streets, the unit has a slim profile to prevent obstruction to pedestrians. At the same time, its wheeled liner can be detached from the bin and wheeled directly to a refuse collection vehicle to be mechanically emptied, vastly reducing the manual strain required of waste collectors. Once emptied, the wheeled liner can be slam locked back into place for speed and efficiency.
Glasdon Jubilee City 100 is particularly effective for high density urban residencies such as FLASH properties (flats above shops). These properties have long been problematic for waste collectors, owing to their reduced ground space for bin infrastructure coupled with significant volumes of food waste from residents.
