In this issue of Sustainability Today, we are pleased to feature Majestic Corporation as our Urban Mining Company of the Month.
Founded in 2018 and listed on the Aquis Stock Exchange under ticker ‘MCJ’, Majestic has quickly established itself as a critical player in urban mining and resource recovery. The company specialises in extracting valuable materials from society’s discarded consumer and industrial waste – across segments including solar, battery, electronic waste, stainless steel, and precious metals. From there, it reinjects those materials back into the supply chain, giving the planet’s finite resources a new lease of life.
Headquartered in Deeside, UK, Majestic also has wholly owned and affiliated sites across Taiwan and Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Italy, Malaysia and Australia.
“We are a specialist in multi-metal recycling and resource recovery,” said Lionel Lai, Manager at Majestic. “We recover valuable metals from discarded electronics, batteries, circuit boards, solar panels, and industrial scrap. This includes materials like copper, aluminium, and precious group metals (PGMs) — all essential for manufacturing and clean energy technologies. From there, we reintroduce it back into the supply chain, creating an alternative and environmentally friendly solution to mining.
“Our work spans the entire recycling chain, beginning with the sourcing of waste and end-of-life equipment from trusted and highly-vetted suppliers. Once collected, these materials are processed and refined at our facilities across the network, ensuring maximum recovery and value. The recycled metals are then supplied to a diverse range of global customers, including refiners, smelters, and manufacturers, helping to close the loop and support a more sustainable, circular economy.”
Operating in the urban mining and critical materials recycling sector, Majestic’s core focus is on e-waste recovery, PGM refining, and sustainable resource management.
“Our model sits at the intersection of cleantech, metals & mining, and environmental services. We offer end-to-end traceability, regulatory compliance, and net-zero-focused recycling – something increasingly demanded by manufacturers and governments. Unlike many competitors, our operations span both sourcing and downstream recovery, allowing us to offer transparent, localised, and efficient solutions with reduced carbon footprint and enhanced material yields. We also work with partners to help them meet ESG and sustainability reporting obligations,” added Lionel.
And the numbers underscore this momentum. The company reported a 67% surge in revenue, reaching $49.3 million for the year ending 31 December, fuelled by increasing demand for recycled materials and the successful scaling of its operations. With profits on the rise, the company remains optimistic about its global expansion strategy and confident in its position for long-term, sustainable growth.
Majestic is built on three core values: Honesty, Integrity, and Transparency. This is the foundation of the company’s mission, to reshape the future of metals recovery.
“We are committed to building a truly circular supply chain for critical materials, grounded in ethical practice, environmental responsibility, and full accountability.
“We believe that sustainability must be underpinned by trust – and trust is earned through honest conduct, transparent operations, and unwavering integrity. From sourcing to recovery, our processes are designed to uphold these principles while delivering measurable impact.
“In a sector often defined by opacity and fragmentation, we stand apart as a partner who puts ethics and traceability first – helping industries transition to a cleaner, more circular future,” said Lionel.
With a goal of developing a sustainable net zero facility and to replicate it globally so that it makes a positive impact on humanity, Majestic is committed to creating a better life for future generations as the leading circular economy solutions provider. The company believes that positively shaping the future of a sustainable circular economy is the moral priority of its time. Its most meaningful impact lies in dedicating resources to developing proprietary recycling methods with advanced technologies.
Looking ahead, they anticipate major advancements in recycling driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics, and by contributing at this early stage, they are committed to helping set the course for a positive, sustainable future for humanity.
“We have a heap of exciting developments in the pipeline, one of them includes developing and launching a digital platform that enables smaller collectors and individuals to supply recyclable materials through a mobile app – currently undergoing validation by Apple and Google,” said Lionel.
Recent developments at Majestic Corporation include the strategic acquisition of TeleCycle, a profitable UK-based recycling business, alongside the expansion of its Wrexham facility to boost local processing capacity for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and non-ferrous materials.
TeleCycle brings with it a well-established and trusted supply network within the UK and has previously acted as a tolling agent for Majestic. This acquisition not only secures a steady stream of recyclable materials but also broadens Majestic’s network of suppliers and customers while removing any potential conflicts of interest.
In addition, TeleCycle provides Majestic with a fully licensed and ISO-certified facility in Deeside, Wales, equipped for e-waste collection, sorting, processing, and shipping. The integration of this facility strengthens operational efficiency, streamlines consolidated financial reporting, and offers the potential for improved margins across the business.
Joe Lee, Director and CFO of Majestic Corporation Plc, commented, “I am delighted that the Acquisition has been successfully completed which marks a significant step forward for Majestic. This transaction not only enhances Majestic’s operational efficiency but also positions the company for sustained future growth.”
The new 50,000ft2 facility in Wrexham, Wales, is a milestone that will drive the company’s UK growth strategy by significantly expanding capacity and advancing its proprietary processing technologies.
The Wrexham site is central to Majestic’s ambition of increasing its annual processing volume to 100,000 tonnes by 2030, reinforcing its role as a vital hub in the UK, European, and global recycling supply chain. Equipped with advanced, proprietary methods, the facility will produce high-grade materials tailored for end users across the precious metals, base metals, and critical materials sectors – further strengthening Majestic’s position within the critical minerals and recycling value chain.
Beyond scale and innovation, the facility is designed to address the surging demand for processing e-waste, battery materials, IT infrastructure, and solar renewables throughout the UK and Europe. Complemented by the company’s existing 4,000ft2 operation in Deeside, Wales, the Wrexham expansion underscores Majestic’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation for its customers.
Peter Lai, Chairman, CEO and Founder of Majestic Corporation, commented, “This facility marks a major step forward in our mission to enable a truly circular economy. By increasing our capacity to handle complex waste streams, we’re not only meeting rising demand but also ensuring more of this critical processing happens locally, here in the UK. Ultimately, this means we’re delivering more to our customers – with greater efficiency.”
When asked about the company’s future, Lionel explained, “The company recently listed in the US OTCQB markets under ‘MCJCF’, and we will continue with our ongoing plans to expand our processing and collection capabilities across additional strategic markets. Yes, we are scaling our presence in the UK and Asia, targeting new sites and partnerships to expand our collection and processing capabilities, but we are also investing in technology to improve material recovery rates, and exploring regional bank partnerships to fund long-term infrastructure growth, particularly in the UK. Majestic is committed to playing a leadership role in the low-carbon transition by helping industry players meet the rising demand for traceable, circular metals. We see immense opportunity in the critical materials space, and our integrated model – from sourcing to recovery – positions us to grow sustainably and globally.”
